Dapinglin to Qizhang: The Xindian After-Work Route

2026-08-27 — Xindian

Xindian's after-work scene is packed between Dapinglin and Qizhang stations, one stop or a twelve-minute walk apart. Start with skewers or a bistro on Beixin Road Section 3 at NT$400 to NT$900 a head; move to Qizhang or Zhongxing Road after 8:30; hand your legs to a Beixin Road massage house by 11. Last train around midnight; if you drank, call a cab.

Xindian’s after-work route is a single street: Beixin Road. Dapinglin station sits at No. 190 Section 3, Qizhang at No. 150 Section 2, twelve minutes apart on foot, and nine-tenths of the district’s evening options are packed into that stretch and the lanes either side.

Ordered by the clock.

18:30 Dapinglin, eat first

Out of the exit, no hesitation, walk along Beixin Road Section 3.

六食酒串 at No. 216 holds 4.8 stars over nine hundred reviews, with plenty of counter seats — five skewers and a drink is dinner for one, around NT$400 a head. To sit longer, H&W Restaurant and Bar at No. 5, Lane 65 is one of the few bistros on this stretch, six hundred-plus reviews; 李芙蓉 bistro at No. 76 Dafeng Road has two hundred-odd reviews at 4.8 stars, few seats, right for two.

笑居樂食居酒屋小料理 at No. 85 Shun’an Street carries over 2,500 reviews, the most of any izakaya in Xindian, and fills after seven on weekdays — phone first.

Price band for this stretch: skewer izakayas NT$400 to NT$600 a head, bistros NT$600 to NT$900. A step below downtown, portions unchanged.

Solo diners take the counter; groups of three or more should arrive before seven on weekdays and skip the wait.

20:30 One stop south, Qizhang

Walk south after eating. Section 3 runs into Section 2, under fifteen minutes, flat, under arcades, no road crossings.

魚舞和食居酒屋 at No. 3, Lane 97 Section 2 has just over a thousand reviews and is the second-stop pick at the Qizhang end; for a change of style, 大名串燒居酒屋だいみょう at No. 171 Sanmin Road has 670 reviews and is five minutes on foot from Qizhang station.

One line of opinion: no queuing on this stretch. Weeknights you walk in; only Friday and Saturday need a booking.

22:00 Zhongxing Road, the overtime shift

Still hungry after ten, turn to Zhongxing Road.

肉道場 繁盛居酒屋 at No. 179 Section 3 has 1,200 reviews and is the busiest late-shift room in Xindian; 日鮨居酒屋 at No. 151 on the same section is far smaller, a hundred-odd reviews, quiet enough to hear the counter talk. Zhongxing Road is about a kilometre from Beixin Road, fifteen minutes on foot, or flag a cab at the flag-fall rate. This is where Xindian residents go; tourists do not walk this far.

More options in Xindian’s izakayas and bars.

23:00 Finish, hand over the legs

Back to Beixin Road for massage.

YU Lab Massage at No. 120 Section 3 has 470 reviews at a full five stars, and 薇朵漾Spa 北新店 at No. 130, 1F has four hundred-plus, a few steps apart; 新北環狀線大坪林站視障按摩旗艦店 operates inside Dapinglin station on B1, so you finish and board before the last train. At the Qizhang end, KA.RA.DA factory 身體工場七張會館 at No. 128 Section 2, 2F has six hundred-plus reviews, and 足の森足體養生館 at No. 16 Section 2 runs the foot-massage line with nearly three hundred.

Most houses close around midnight, some at 1am — check posted hours. Full list in Xindian massage and spa.

Last train and the rule

Green Line last train around midnight, and both Dapinglin and Qizhang stations sit on the route, so you make it from anywhere. Drivers: street bays and lots on Beixin Road run NT$20 to NT$40 an hour; stay out of the lanes.

If you drank, take a cab or a designated driver. Beixin Road has taxis all night.

For the waterfront version on a weekend, the Bitan night is two more stops down the same Green Line; district coordinates are in the Xindian guide.

FAQ

FAQ

01

Where is the easiest place to eat after work in Xindian?

Dapinglin station. Beixin Road Section 3 is the izakaya and bistro strip straight out of the exit — No. 216, Lane 65 and Shun'an Street are all within five minutes on foot; NT$400 to NT$900 a head, a step below downtown.

02

How long is the walk from Dapinglin to Qizhang?

About twelve minutes along Beixin Road, one MRT stop. The lanes between the two stations are Xindian's densest stretch of bars, so two venues in one night needs no taxi.

03

How late do Xindian massage houses stay open?

Most until around midnight, some until 1am — check posted hours. There is a visually-impaired massage house on B1 of Dapinglin station, and two spas at No. 120 and No. 130 Beixin Road Section 3 are a minute apart.

04

Does the route work solo?

Yes. Skewer houses have plenty of counter seats, and five skewers with a drink is a meal. For quiet, the stretch of Zhongxing Road Section 3 is thinner than Beixin Road.

05

When is the last train, and what if I miss it?

Green Line last train around midnight, and Beixin Road has taxis all night. If you drank, take a cab or a designated driver — do not ride home.
